My 10k Challenge to save lives
In 2024 I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and in March 2025 I had a 5 and a half hour radical prostatectomy operation. The operation has a couple of significant after effects, but I am one of the lucky ones.
Every year about 4,000 Australian men die from Prostate Cancer, although it is not fatal if caught in time.
So I have taken the challenge to run the 10 kilometre race at the Townsville Running Festival in August to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA)
