Ilknur Shave Star
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men. About 3,000 of our fathers, husbands, sons and friends will lose their battle every year. In Australia, 1 in 6 men will receive this life-changing diagnosis in their lifetime. I have already lost two men in my life to this horrible disease, after losing both my father and father-in-law to prostate cancer in the past.
In April this year, to support all the men in my life and in yours, and to raise awareness for all cancer types, I have decided to shave my head and donate my long locks to the Cancer Council Victoria Ponytail Project.
As most of you know, at 55 years old I have, and have always had, very long hair. I have no doubt I will miss my hair when it’s gone, but maybe it will make a difference so others aren’t missing their loved ones instead.
I would really appreciate your help in raising awareness and support for this very worthy cause. Many hands make light work, and any donation, small or large, you can generously make might be what is needed to make a difference.

Wednesday 17th Jan We met this beautiful lady 12 months ago, and after a day she offered to shave her hair off to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation. We would love for everyone to support the amazing act of kindness that she is doing, so any donation big or small all goes a long way in fighting this insidious disease.
