The Long Ride 2021

The Prostate Cancer Foundation Long Ride 2022 - Peter Schilling

I will be participating in the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) Long Ride to Victor Harbour in October 2022.

The Long Ride is a group of motorcycle riders who participate in this charity event every year or two. This is a very special event for me because my long time, long distance motorcycle riding mate has prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men, with over 20,000 men diagnosed each year. No other cancer affects more Australian men and yet in far too many cases, men live with long-lasting impacts on physical and mental well-being and often fail to seek or find help or support. Tragically more than 3,300 Australian men die from this cancer each year.

The PCFA is the peak body for research into prostate cancer and plays a vital role in the fight against this insidious disease. Breakthroughs and improvements in treatment of prostate cancer are only possible with the financial support of the public. The goal of PCFA is to create a future where men live with prostate cancer, not die from it.  A future where every man diagnosed with the disease has access to a Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse and where research leads to new treatment options that will ensure our men can live longer and better lives.
