The 4x4 Prostate Cancer Awareness Fundraiser was established by the Berton family to honour the memory of husband, father, and avid 4WD enthusiast Mike Berton. Mike was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019 and passed away in 2021 at just 53 years of age, only 22 months after his diagnosis. Like many men, he had no symptoms, and his cancer was discovered at an advanced stage. Determined to create something positive from their loss, the Berton family launched this event to raise awareness of prostate cancer, promote the importance of early detection, and support the vital work of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Since its inception, the fundraiser has united the 4WD community and raised more than $56,500 to help fund research, support services, and awareness initiatives.
In 2026, we proudly celebrate the 5th year of the 4x4 Prostate Cancer Awareness Fundraiser. Join us on Saturday, 19 September 2026, in the Watagans for a day of four-wheel driving, mateship, and community spirit, all in support of a cause that affects thousands of Australian men and their families. Whether you register to attend, make a donation, or help spread the word, your support helps raise awareness, encourage earlier detection, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those impacted by prostate cancer.
