Day two of the ride

Friday 10th Oct
Day 1 we travelled Townsville to Clermont and today we rode from Clermont to Surat. Peter who rode with us to Townsville headed home and we were joined by another participant, Andrea, in emerald. Current having dinner at the royal hotel Surat awaiting the jackpot raffle draw and raising some more funds for the cause.

Why?

Friday 1st Aug
Since announcing that I would be riding to Esperance from Townsville for a fundraiser, and continuing on to ride "The big Lap" of Australia up the West coast and across the top before heading home to Townsville, quite a few people have asked me "why would you ride all that way"? Well, for one, the time on the bike on the open road is therapy for me and something I thoroughly enjoy but the main reason is that when I was told about "The Long Ride" and the associated cause I jumped at the chance to raise some funds for Prostate Cancer Foundation Of Australia. At my age (62 - yeah I know "unbelievable" right?) I know quite a few men who have prostate cancer to a greater or lesser degree. One of our close personal friends of many years, Henry, has just finished his chemotherapy treatment and we are so hopeful that the treatment has been successful and he has many more happy years to enjoy. Yep, Henry, this trip's for you mate. Here is a picture of Henry and his lovely wife Dawn rocking up to make a donation and have a yarn at our recent sausage sizzle. God bless them please.

Rising Sun Townsville - Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser 19 July

Monday 21st Jul
A great day was had by Brett and Mick of the FNQ Long Riders team running a sausage sizzle. Thanks to the support of the Townsville Motorcycling community we raised $456 in sales and a $500 donation thanks to Thomas from Townsville Bike Taxi.

Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser

Hi all,
We will be holding a Sausage Sizzle fundraiser on Saturday 19 July 2025 at Rising Sun Motorcycles, 35 Bowen Road, Townsville from 8:30 to 11:30 am. This event is being proudly supported by Rising Sun Townsville and for that we extend our heartfelt appreciation.

Please come on down and have Sausage sanga and a yarn. It would be great to see you there and remember ALL proceeds go to the very worthwhile charity of The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

Monday 16th Jun
We had a very successful day at our Bunnings Fairfield Waters Sausage sizzle on Sunday 15 June. We sold out of sausages and bread and needed to restock to see the day out. A good day was had by all. Many thanks to family, friends, acquaintances and everyone else who bought a sausage and/or made a donation to this great cause. Love you all.

Fundraising Stubby Coolers

Hi all, we are getting some stubby coolers done as part of our fundraising activities. We will be selling them for $10 each (production is $4.95). I will be giving away a cooler for every donation of $30 or more as a thank you for your generosity. Remember all donations are tax deductible. Get in before 30 June to get some $$$$ back off albo. Hi everyone,
I enjoy supporting many different events during the year - my involvement with The Townsville Restored Motorcycle Club where I currently volunteer as club secretary involves fundraising activities and participation in various charity rides during the year. In addition to club events I also participate in a number of other Charity Rides run by various clubs and organizations. The Registration fee from such rides as well as raffle profits etc always goes to support worthwhile charities.
