The Double Shot Challenge

By River Canoe Club of NSW

Join the Double Shot Challenge

The Double Shot Challenge is a community paddle raising funds and awareness for those living with prostate cancer, and those who support them.

On 20 September, paddlers will come together for a coffee-to-coffee challenge across beautiful Botany Bay. But you don't have to be in Sydney to take part.

You can:

🚣🏼 Join us on the water for the 27km Double Shot or the shorter 12km Piccolo paddle

🌍 Join anywhere. Register, set your own distance, log your kilometres and raise funds from wherever you are.

Whether you paddle 5km or 50km, every kilometre paddled, every conversation started and every dollar raised helps support men and families affected by prostate cancer.

Our goal is simple:

1) Collectively paddle 500km in one day

2) Raise funds for research and treatment

3) Encourage more men to get checked and start conversations that could save lives.

My Updates

A generous paddling community

Sunday 2nd Aug
We are so grateful for how willing people have been to help with this fundraiser.

We haven't done this before, so it all feels new and we aren't sure what to expect. We decided to hold a raffle to help with the fundraising, and I started by asking another club member whether they would help. I was very happy when they said yes.

They then started approaching businesses to ask whether they might donate a prize. We have been met with so much support and encouragement, and now have a fantastic collection of prizes for the raffle.

A huge thank you to Expedition Kayaks, Paddle and Portance Canoes, Horizon Line, Pro Kayaks, Paddle Zone, Global Paddler and Cooks River Alliance for support this effort to bring our paddling community together and fundraise for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

We'll have the raffle set up soon. At the moment we seem to be better at collecting prizes than actually organising the raffle :)

It has been lovely to see people across the paddling community get behind the event and help us support a cause that matters to so many families. Thank you!
