Members of SAVCA love their cricket. We play hard, we compete well and we look out for each other, sharing a treasured mateship. We form an important community of like-minded, supportive people. We now all have the opportunity to support the wider community and show our commitment to Men’s Health.
Every 22 minutes an Aussie bloke is diagnosed with prostate cancer. Data just released estimates 25,487 Australian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year, an increase of around 5% in just 12 months. In the same period, the number of deaths has jumped from 3,507 to 3,743 – to more than 10 deaths a day.
SAVCA plans to do its bit. We will hold a season opening event of four Twenty20 matches open to all age divisions of SAVCA, and in doing so we will raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. The funds we raise will go to projects such as:
🔬 Game-changing research like the $1.6M EVOLUTION Clinical Trial
👩⚕️ More PCFA Prostate Cancer Nurses with 114 nurses nationwide
📚 Sending out around 150,000 awareness booklets every year

- Two T20 games beginning at 10.00 am
- Barbecue Lunch
- Two more T20 games beginning at 1.30 pm
- Celebrations in the Clubrooms for as long as you like
