Contact Group

By Elise Nowell

NOVEMBER IS MEN'S HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH – AND CONTACT GROUP IS GETTING BEHIND IT!

Throughout November, Contact Group will be recognising Men's Health Awareness Month and shining a spotlight on the importance of looking after our physical health, mental wellbeing and each other.

Working in the electrical, construction and building services industries can be demanding. Long hours, physically challenging work, deadlines and the pressures of everyday life can all take their toll.

This November, we're encouraging everyone to take a moment to check in on themselves and the people around them.

So, what will Contact Group be doing?

💙 WEEKLY MEN'S HEALTH AWARENESS POSTS
Each week we'll share information, reminders and practical tips covering men's physical health, mental health, fatigue, stress and the importance of checking in on our mates.

🎟️ CHARITY RAFFLE
We'll be running a raffle throughout November to raise funds for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. All proceeds will go towards supporting an organisation making a difference to men's health and wellbeing. More details on prizes and tickets will be shared soon! In the meantime, please let me know if you are aware of any businesses who may wish to make a donation to our raffle.

🥩 INTERNATIONAL MEN'S DAY BBQ – THURSDAY 19 NOVEMBER
We'll be bringing our three branches together (in spirit!) with a BBQ at each location from 12 noon. It's an opportunity to enjoy some good food, connect with colleagues and celebrate the men who are part of our Contact Group team.

👥 LOOK AFTER YOUR MATES
Most importantly, we're encouraging everyone to check in on their workmates. Sometimes a simple conversation, a quick coffee or asking "Are you doing okay?" can make a bigger difference than you realise.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Men's health is about more than just getting through the working week. It's about making sure we're healthy, supported and able to enjoy life both at work and outside of it.

Let's use November to celebrate our men, raise awareness, start conversations and remind each other that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

A big thank you in advance to everyone helping organise activities across our three branches.

💙 LOOK AFTER YOURSELF. LOOK AFTER YOUR MATES.
