Prostate Cancer Nurse.
Every day, 72 Aussie men are diagnosed with prostate cancer.
This is why we have decided to try make a change by joining the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia Fund raising team.
We are taking on a new challenge and raising funds for a fulltime prostate cancer nurse for men impacted by a prostate cancer diagnosis in the Townsville region.
Personally, I recently had my prostate removed. So, as part of my rehabilitation process we had a regular appointment to discuss the progress of my recovery with my Prostate Cancer Nurse Donna at the Townsville Hospital.
This was invaluable in my recovery journey. Donna explained, reassured, and gave my partner and myself all the information from the most basic to the big-ticket items that your Urology Specialist doesn’t have the time to go through.
My most recent catch up with Donna, I found out that the Prostate Cancer Nurse was only funded for two-days per week.
We found this incredible that a Prostate Cancer Nurse is not funded for 5 days a week.
This is where I would like to fundraise specifically for a Prostrate Cancer Nurse - to help alter this situation.
Access to this service should be available to all men to help in their individual journeys 5 days per week.
Now, I have discussed this matter with my better half and we are going to organize a charity golf day in Townsville and one in Cairns.
Please support the Albatross Nq Charity Golf Day by entering a team or sponsoring the day by making a tax-deductible donation to my campaign in support of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
