Every day, 79 Aussie men are diagnosed with prostate cancer. That’s why I’ve decided to become an agent of change by joining the PCFA-Team.

I’ll be taking on a new challenge and raising funds to support men and their families impacted by a prostate cancer diagnosis. From game-changing research to specialised mental and physical care, there is so much more we can, and must, do to save the lives of the men we love. 

The 2025 PCFA Long Ride was going to be the last one I was going to be involved in. However, when I found out the 2027 ride was to Tasmania, I had to participate.

The 2017 PCFA Long Ride went to Tasmania after Chris and Gail finally relented under continuing pressure from hundreds of LR riders. Chris Osborn (my close mate and LR partner) and I were very keen to participate. We arrived a day early but on the first morning Chris did not look well. His oncologist had changed his prostate cancer medication routine a few days before we left Canberra and it obviously did not agree with him. We managed to get a cabin on the ferry back to Melbourne that night and we returned to Canberra.

Chris passed away from prostate cancer on 27 June 2025. I am making my last PCFA LR a memorial ride to Chris. I will have a photograph of him taped to the windscreen of my scooter.
